Education

I am currently a second year veterinary student living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I completed my undergraduate education from the University of Florida where I received a bachelors in Biology. The coursework for my major required numerous math and science courses to be completed. My undergraduate GPA was a 3.82 and I received an A in almost all of my undergraduate coursework. In high school I did dual enrollment courses at the local community college as well as AP classes such as AP Biology and AP Calculus.

Experience

Frequently in my undergraduate and high school math and science classes I would understand the concepts and methods better than some of my peers and they would ask for my help. My teachers would often rely on me to assist other students in the class on understanding the material while they were lecturing. I also volunteered to tutor after school in the schools library. I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to help others and it allows me to better understand the material myself. I think that being a student I can understand some of the problems that other students may face and understand their difficulties better than their teacher may be able to do. I also am good at finding new ways to describe something or listening to what the student needs to help them understand. I have excelled in numerous math courses including: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, College Algebra, Pre-calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, and Calculus. I had a 31 composite ACT score and a 2010 composite SAT score. I have a bachelors degree in biology and a special interest in genetics. I took multiple classes on genetics in my undergraduate coursework and have a very good understanding of many of the the principles. I have had to assist numerous classmates with biological topics and specifically genetics in many of my classes. I am willing to try to help you succeed in any way that works for you!
